Atishri Sarkar in Happy New Year

For those who have already seen Happy New Year (and going by the record-breaking 100 crore collections, we are guessing a lot of you must have), we are sure you must have spotted vivacious TV actress Atishri Sarkar in a few scenes. The Bengali beauty plays a hottie named Polly who spurns Vivaan Shah for being a loser preferring to groove with a handsome DJ instead. She is shown realising her folly of underestimating Vivaan when Team Indiawaale wins the coveted World Dance Championship.

Though Atishri has only three scenes in the movie, the actress absolutely loved every bit of her cameo. Sharing her happiness with us, Atishri says, "It was an absolutely great experience and I loved every bit of it. I had five scenes in all but two of them got chopped off at the edit table but I am not complaining at all. Shooting with Vivaan and Farah maam and her team was worth an experience."

And it was luck that landed Atishri this role. Reveals the actress, "Another girl was finalised for my part but she couldn't be reached a day before the shoot and they started looking for a replacement. I had once appeared in a random audition at Red Chillies where my introduction was taped on a different reel. Farah maam saw this reel of mine and liked it. The casting director too recommended me to Farah saying that I am a good actress. That's when all of them decided to cast me."

Although Atishri doesn't have a scene with SRK in the movie, the actress had her own short fan-interaction moment with King Khan after the shoot. Shares Atishri, "I am a big fan of SRK. I had hardly slept on the day of shoot but once I saw SRK on sets all my energies came back gushing. And when I went to meet him, my heart almost skipped a beat and I kept I telling myself that I will faint any moment. Meeting and interacting with him was a moment to be cherished and SRK kept telling me, 'God Bless You'."

While many actresses shy away from cameos, Atishri doesn't have any such reservations. "Cameos are good and they will also help me in getting noticed," is her short and sweet answer. On the television front, it's realistic roles in Crime Patrol and Savdhan India that excites her rather than daily soaps.

On the Bollywood front, Atishri has auditioned for a big-budget movie though she stops short from revealing the name of the project. "I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the moment, " remarks the pretty lass before signing off.

Let's hope you clinch the deal, Atishri.
