Kanye West caught 'stealing' jewellery from fashion show

Rapper Kanye West was caught on camera 'stealing' an earring from a Versace fashion show.

The rapper and his wife Kim Kardashian West were sitting in the front row at the label's New York pre-fall fashion show December 2 when he noticed the piece of jewellery on the catwalk. Kanye decided to use the opportunity to claim it for himself, and was caught on camera by Kim, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"I'm about to steal this earring that dropped, it's just there," the 41-year-old said in the video uploaded to Kim's Instagram Story.

"They think they getting this back but I'm about to steal this," Kanye added.

Kim was wearing a silver sequinned minidress by Donatella Versace's brand, while Kanye wore a smart navy coat layered over a pair of tracksuit bottoms, and finished the look with a pair of his Yeezy trainers. The mother-of-three has yet to reveal whether her husband ever did return the earring.

Chinese province Yunnan wooing Indian tourists

The southwestern Chinese province of Yunnan has got down to actively wooing Indian tourists, the inflow of whom has been limited till now, showcasing its scenic beauty, natural wonders and salubrious climate.

With Yunnan's capital Kunming hosting the 65th convention of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) last week, Director General of Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism He Ligui said that his office is now focusing on Indian tourists.

"Yunnan is very close to India, particularly to northeastern India," He said in an interaction with a group of visiting Indian journalists here.

"Indian tourist flow to Yunnan has been very limited but now we are focusing on this," he added.

Kunming is just a four-hour flight away from Delhi and two-and-a-half-hour flight from Kolkata.

Stating that India and China are entering a "golden period" of tourism, He said: "India has become a very important source country for tourism in China and China too has become so for India -- and Yunnan would like to play a leading role in this."

Li Bijian, Minister in the Chinese Embassy in India, said that this is coming in the backdrop of the informal summit between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Wuhan in China in April this year during which the two leaders agreed to enhance people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

"We think that India and China are the largest neighbours, the largest developing countries and the largest emerging economies," Li said.

"The decisions taken during the Wuhan summit are described as the Wuhan Spirit by your side while our side calls its Wuhan Consensus."

Stating that two-way exchange of people stands around 1.08 million people annually, which is very low, Li said: "Educational, sports and cultural tourism are what we are looking."

To increase the inflow of Chinese tourists to India, he said that there should be more Mandarin-fluent Indian guides holding official permits.

"Though there are many five-star and four-star hotels in India, there are very limited business hotels in India," Li said.

"Also, there should be more Chinese restaurants in places like Kerala, Goa, Varanasi and Bodh Gaya."

According to He, there are plans to launch more flights to Kolkata and other Indian cities to boost two-way flow of tourists.

Stating that Yunnan is expecting around 700 million tourists this year, he said: "In the first 10 months, the number has touched 601 million, out of which 595 million were domestic tourists and the rest seven million were from neighbouring countries like Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and Singapore. Yunnan is earning around 700 billion yuan (over $100 billion) annually through tourism, making it a strategic pillar of the provincial economy."

Extolling what Yunnan has to offer to tourists, He said that the province is a great variety of weather -- "not too hot in summer and not too cold in winter" -- due to its unique geographical location.

"Kunming enjoys spring-like weather throughout the year," he said.

Yunnan is home to 26 ethnic Chinese groups with a population of over 47 million.

Stating that Yunnan has become a very important tourism destination in China, He said that the province now has 856 star-rated hotels, 958 travel agents and 65 tourist bus companies.

The Yunnan official also said that a mobile app has also been developed to help people travelling in Yunnan.

"The app was launched on October 1 and we are working to further develop it," he said. "We will make better use of WeChat, Facebook and Google to boost tourism in Yunnan."

He also stated that Yunnan is a very important region for Beijing's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as it is the only province that can link China with South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Aroonim Bhuyan visited China at the invitation of the Chinese Embassy in India.

Hera Hilmar landed 'Mortal Engines' via Skype call

Actress Hera Hilmar was finalised for "Mortal Engines" with just her audition tape, says writer Philippa Boye.

Hilmar will be seen as the protagonist Hester Shaw in the film.

The audition tape was so strong that after a Skype call with Hilmar we cast her without meeting her in-person," writer Philippa Boyens said in a statement.

"Hera reminds me of Ingrid Bergman, a classic beauty and an old soul with a calmness about her-absolutely perfect for the role of Hester," Boyens added.

Director Christian Rivers also praised Hilmar.

"She was just perfect, relatively unknown, captivating, beautiful and fragile, and we knew we could put a scar on her," Rivers said.

Peter Jacksons' "Mortal Engines" will release in India on December 7, a week before its US release.

Based on Philip Reeve's book by the same name, "Mortal Engines" is set in a steampunk world where entire cities have been mounted on wheels and prey on one another. It depicts a world of predator cities existing thousands of years after current civilization has been destroyed by a cataclysmic event.

Universal Pictures International India is bringing the film to India. It will release in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Mary Poppins' accent made singing easier: Emily Blunt

Actress Emily Blunt, who has sung several songs in a musical fantasy film "Mary Poppins Returns", says it was her character Mary Poppins which helped to overcome her fear of singing on-screen.

In the film, Blunt plays the titular role of Mary Poppins as a prim and proper nanny with magical skills.

In an interview on TV show "This Morning", she said: "Singing is more personal and more intimate, it's easier for me to sing as Mary Poppins because I sing in a way that's not my natural voice, with a different accent and a different style so it's easier for me to remove myself."

The 35-year-old Blunt was hesitant about sharing her voice with the world but once she got to grips with Mary's English accent, she was far more confident tackling the lyrics of the songs, reported the leading publication.

"Mary Poppins Returns" is a sequel to Disney's 1964 film of the same name. It is helmed by Rob Marshall.

The movie is releasing in India on January 4, 2019.

Williams blames himself for having no act in 'The X Factor' final

Singer Robbie Williams says it is because he was away for three weeks in South America while on tour, which damaged his performers' chances of making it all the way to the final on "The X Factor".

The TV judge, 44, was away from the reality series while he toured in South America. He thinks he was "delusional" to think he could coach his performers from half way across the world.

The singer's comments come after after Dalton Harris, 24, was crowned winner in the final after being mentored to success by Louis Tomlinson, reports leading publication.

Simon Cowell's act Scarlett, 21, finished as runner-up and another of Tomlinson's acts, Anthony Russell, 28, came third.

Williams said how he would have had his act Acacia & Aaliyah, who were eliminated in week six and finished in fourth place, sing different songs if he had been there with them.

He told The Sun: "Had I been with them maybe I wouldn't have had them perform Maniac. But from South America it's difficult to feel the temperature of the performance.

"I watched it in Guadalajara in Mexico thinking, 'I wish they hadn't done that'. That's down to me. My not being there cost them, I think. But I'm delusional and think I'm going to win everything, which is how I've got this far - delusions."
