MUMBAI: Saif Ali Khan’s digital debut Sacred Games earned him huge praises and the actor is back on the web medium with his forthcoming series, Tandav. The show which is based on Indian politics is on the lines of acclaimed American political thriller House of Cards and the series will be helmed by Ali Abaas Zafar.

Dimple Kapadia and Gauahar Khan have been roped in for pivotal roles where the former will play boss to the latter. As per media reports, Dimple Kapadia wasn’t the first choice for the role, but the gorgeous Manisha was the first choice of the makers but the actress refused the offer as she wasn’t convinced with the part she was playing.

The actress as confirmed that she was offered the movie but she is not doing the series and due to some reasons, things didn’t work out. It seems that several actresses from the 90s namely Urmila Matondkar, Raveena Tandon and Sonali Bendre were approached for the part but they also refused it. Sakshi Tanwar, a popular face on the small screen was also offered the role, but she also did not come on board. Finally, Dimple Kapadia sealed the deal.
