Rabiya did not give me a hard time while shooting for Ankush: N Chandra

A report in a section of the press claiming that Jiah Khan’s mother Rabiya Khan gave filmmaker N Chandra a difficult time during the making of Ankush, has baffled and angered Chandra.

“It’s not true! In fact the lady journalist from the daily had called me to ask how Rabiya behaved during Ankush. I told her Rabiya was thoroughly professional. Still she has gone and written that Rabiya misbehaved and left half-way through the film. Not done,” protests Chandra angrily.

Recalls Chandra, “Ankush was made on a shoe-strong budget. And like every member of the team Rabiya Amin—that was her name then--worked for a small fee. There were no vans, no separate makeup rooms for any artiste. Rabiya roughed it out with everyone else without any complaint. She was friendly with everyone and not at all moody and aloof, as the daily claims. And she completed the film, like every other actor. She didn’t leave Ankush half-way. I want to know where and whom they got this information from.”

Rabiya had played the ambitious social-climber of a girl whom actor Arjun Chakraborty wants to marry. But she turns around and snubs him saying, “Can you afford to give me the good things in life? No? Then please leave me alone.”
