Having said that, the latest developments claimed by Times Now suggests that the late actor's family is relieved and thanked the CM for making a request on the same. His family expressed their gratitude towards the CM and also said that after seeing the non-cooperation between Mumbai Police and Bihar Police, this decision has been made and he is glad that now the justice will be served without any bias. With CBI probe in Sushant's suicide case, his family members and even his million fans will be relieved. Earlier, talking about the consent, Nitish Kumar told the portal, "Bihar DGP (Gupteshwar Pandey) had a talk with the late actor's father KK Singh today. DGP has informed me that the father has asked for a CBI probe into the case.

On the other hand, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde has said in a statement that the Bihar Police has no jurisdiction to transfer Sushant Singh Rajput's to the CBI. He also said in a statement that there cannot be a transfer of a case which had no legal basis for Bihar to get involved.

On July 28, Sushant Singh Rajput's father filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty in Patna under a few sections including 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC. Since then, Bihar Police intervened and investigating the matter.
