First rains in Mumbai: TV actors share experience

After the scorching summer heat, rains hit Mumbai yesterday to bring much relief to parched souls. When it rains all you want to do is stay cosy in bed and sip on hot chai and eat pakodas. And of course with the beauty of it comes potholes and traffic jams. Rains bring both hassle and happiness to Mumbaikars. We speak to some of our most popular television celebrities on their first rain experience.

Shaheer Sheikh:

I love rains. Recently, I went on my bike to Umbergaon where my set is located (Star Plus’ Mahabharat) and the entire view was mesmerizing. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I feel rains are very important as they bring in fresh breath in the air after scorching heat.

Gurmeet Choudhary:

I heaved a sigh of relief as Mumbai welcomed its first rains. Luckily I was not shooting so I spent the whole day at home and enjoyed the view from the 28th floor of the building where I stay. I am on a strict diet but I will be enjoying eating hot pakodas after a week.

Divyanka Tripathi:

I am shooting (Star Plus’ Yeh Hai Mohabbatein) so don’t get time to get wet in the rain but whenever I reach home at 6 in the morning from my shoot, I click lots of pictures of the beautiful view outside my house and upload it on Instagram. If I get an opportunity, I would love to go to Lonavala and trek and enjoy the beautiful waterfalls. I plan to eat delicious aata (wheat flour) Maggi and onion and dal kachoris all throughout the rainy season.

Deepika Singh:

I love sitting at home and munching on hot snacks and tea during the rainy season. I yet remember, when I was not an actor how I and my cousins in Delhi used to much on yummy jalebis and samosas all the time. But the first rains in Mumbai hassled me quite a bit as we were shooting outdoor (Star Plus’ Diya Sur Baati Hum) and we had to stall our shoot every now and then. Otherwise, the sound of rains is like spiritual music to my ears and I love the smell of wet mud.

Asha Negi:

I went out for dinner with Rithvik (Dhanjani) and our close friends Suyyash (Kumar) and Kishwer (Merchantt). I am very lazy so I like sitting at home and watching television with some chai during the rains.

Ashish Sharma:

My first rain experience happened yesterday where we had to shoot outdoors (Colors’ Rangrasiya) and our shooting was stalled because of rains. We however enjoyed ourselves and ate some chai-pakoda on the sets.

Somya Seth:

I have done crazy stuff during rains like dancing on the road but this year I was at home. I made myself some pakodas, sipped coffee and read books.

Rubina Dilaik:

I am an early morning person but yesterday I lazed around in my bed till late enjoying the beautiful weather. I later went for a drive with my sister and enjoyed ice-cream.
