After making people cry, it’s a challenge to make someone laugh - Rinku Ghosh

Rinku Ghosh

Rinku Ghosh better known as Durgesh Nandini is back on TV after a long break with Colors’ new comedy show Mrs Pammi Pyarelal . Last seen in a negative role in Colors’ Mohe Rang De , this talented Bhojpuri actress has now been bit by the ‘comedy’ bug with Colors’ Mrs Pammi Pyarelal (Playtime Creations).

Says Rinku about her new role, “I have always played very intense roles. I can make people cry very easily. So it was a challenge for me to make someone laugh. But I always want to try out different things as an actress. Whether I succeed or not depends on the audiences.”

On her absence from Hindi TV, Rinku states, “I was quite busy doing films. I wanted to come back and luckily I got the character on the right show and right channel. I am very happy to be part of TV which has become a very big medium. All big film stars have joined the bandwagon.”

Talking about the glamourous bhabhi character that she plays in Mrs Pammi Pyarelal , she says, “Mohini is insecure of Pammi (Gaurav Gera) as she thinks that she is better looking than her. But then my character also loves her forgetful husband Randhir (Prasad Barve) dearly.”

In closing, Rinku Ghosh feels a bit sad when her regional film industry is often called a poor cousin of Bollywood. “This is a bit unfair as we have a lot of good films with original and interesting plots. Yes we have smaller budgets but that does not take away from good content.”

Rinku also would not mind doing Hindi films. “Right now I am busy with Pammi, but if something works, I am game for it. I am ready to doing work across all mediums.”

Rinku, you are superb as Mohini!!!
