Ayushman Khurana and Angad Bedi will host the ground events of Indian Premier League's upcoming season, starting on March 13. Bedi and Khurana will host the ground event during alternate matches.
The opening match at Mohali will be hosted by Khurana. "I am really looking forward to the first match; it is going to be very exciting. Both Angad and I will be interacting with players and team owners on the ground. Studio hosting is not my forte so initially we will host ground events only. Sameer Kochhar and Gaurav Kapoor will be in the studios since they have been doing it from the last season," says Khurana.
So is he prepared for this different job, "They told me to be myself the way I was in my MTV shows. I am a great cricket fan and have seen many live matches before in Chandigarh. I have anchored for radio therefore I am familiar with live shows and that would not be a difficulty though I am doing it for the first time," he adds.
Which team will he root for? "I have followed the earlier two seasons and I was a fan of Kolkata Knight Riders like most people. However this year I will be neutral as a host and will not support anyone, though I guess the first match between Kings XI of Punjab and Delhi Daredevils is going to be interesting for sure."
He says he won't miss women on the show because "there would be cheerleaders on the field."
On March 20, he won't watch any pre match events as he will be busy hosting the finale of Music Ka Maha Muqqabla.
