Zee Bangla

To mark this auspicious occasion, Zee Bangla showcased ‘Mahisasura Mardini’ to its loyal viewers in an amazing way. Their programme, titled, ‘Mahisasurmardini Nobo Rupe Nobo Durga’, featured how Goddess Durga had destroyed the Mahisasura and the entire tale revolving around her. The beautiful actress Koel Mullick, who was last seen in films like ‘Besh Korechi Prem Korechi’ and ‘Highway’ (Bengali), essayed the role of Goddess Durga. The show featured this pretty actress enacting the nine different avatars of Durga.

Star Jalsha

Akal Bodhon (The Untimely Worship) marks the beginning of the auspicious festive season of Durga Puja.  And, Star Jalsha beautifully showcased the legend behind this untimely worship of the deity. The talented actress Sandipta Sen, who is currently seen on Star Jalsa’s ‘Tumi Asbe Bole’, was seen in the role of Goddess Durga.

Colors Bangla

Colors Bangla showcased an interesting concept on Mahalaya! This year they showed Sahdhak Bamakhyapa (Arindam Ganguly) narrating the story of Maa Durga (Payel) through a character in his space, called Uma (Ronita Das). Through Uma and Trikalnath, viewers saw the enactment of Mahishashurmardini - formation of the most powerful woman source to destroy Mahishashur. This broad story was interspersed with song and dance sequences in Bamakhyapa’s surroundings as well as some chants and songs which are that of gods and goddesses.

Aakash Aath

Aakash Aath thought of a different concept to mark this occasion. They organised a musical night. Yes readers, for the first time ever Aakash Aath hosted a night long live 8 hours musical show to usher in Mahalaya from 11 pm on 11th October till 7 am on 12th October.
